Celebration Station: Day 13-Sounds of Steam

Day 13

Today we visit with the steampunk radio show, Sounds of Steam.

Sounds Of Steam, a weekly steampunk-themed, syndicated internet radio show,  hosted by Travis I. Sivart and Wendy Callahan, focusing on the steampunk genre and culture. Sounds of Steam airs every Monday at 9PM EST. We are approaching you to see if you would be interested in having our show on Sirius/XMRadio. I am attaching a short audio demo montage of our show.

Our show, Sounds of Steam, has regular segments such as: Drink-Du-Jour, News Clips, Steampunk Storytime, This Week In History, Opening and Closing Toasts, Upcoming Events, and Steampunk Music Hour. We discuss the influence of Steampunk in the world of movies, literature, music, gaming, and every other corner of culture we can find. We explore the hobbies, sub genres, geographic influences, and fringe cultures that help shape Steampunk every day. All of this blended with adult wit, mature sarcasm, and a pub-like atmosphere. We are the perfect blend of a morning radio show and night time talk show!

We interview authors, artists, bands, writers, inventors, time travelers, craftsmen, convention goers and hosts. We have interviewed New York Times best selling author Gail Carriger, producer and writer of Lantern City (along with actor/producer, Bruce Boxleitner) Trevor Crafts, the man who created the term ‘Steampunk’ KW Jeter, as well as many others. Wendy and I are also both published authors ourselves.

We have hundreds of live listeners from dozens of countries each week. We have interacted with more than 70 countries, and all seven continents (including Antarctica) on social media. We are truly an international show, with thousands of online interactions per week. So if you have been wondering who actually sees and hears what we say… I say, with all confidence, the world does!

We have a social media presence on Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Pinterest, VK.com (Russian and Ukraine social site), Steampunk Writers and Artists Guild (S.W.A.G.), The Steampunk Empire, and Fetlife. We have been nominated for “Best Podcast” by Steampunk Chronicle’s 2013 Reader Choice Awards, and were invited to TeslaCon as a Fan Guest. All this in the first year of our show.

Invited and/or attended as PRESS at:
The Steampunk World’s Fair in Piscataway, NJ
TeslaCon in Madison, WI
Steampunk Empire Symposium in Cincinnati, OH
ConTemporal in Raleigh, NC
AnachroCon in Atlanta, GA
MarsCon in Williamsburg, VA
MystiCon in Roanoke, VA

Our show offers a wide variety of music from different genres, as well as appeals to geeks, nerds, techies, and others in the growing cultural niche of sarcastic intellectualism. Thank you for your time and consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
